A striking Southbank tower with sweeping city views

City Road by Convido sits on the western side of Southbank, five minutes from Crown and about the same from the Yarra. The arts precinct and the National Gallery are seven hundred and fifty metres east. The aquarium and the convention centre are both around a kilometre, and Flinders Street Station is a walk across the river.

The building is worth looking up at. Forty-one levels sit behind a white lattice frame that wraps the whole facade, and the entrance is through a retained heritage warehouse at street level, which gives the arrival something the towers around it do not have. Residential floors start above a nine-storey podium, so even the lower apartments sit well clear of the road, with city or river aspects depending on which way you face.

A heated indoor pool opens at six and runs until ten at night, with a fully equipped gym and a residents lounge alongside. A restaurant and bar operate on site, and there are conference and meeting facilities in the building.

Reception is staffed around the clock, secure entry and cameras cover the building, and undercover parking is available with a booking.
