The story behind Convido
For nearly thirty years, we've built a business that knows extended stays better than almost anyone in the region.
Our story began in Melbourne, Australia in 1998, after we kept meeting business people who needed somewhere to live while on assignment for three months, six months, a year. Hotels weren’t geared for longer-term living and the rental market didn’t really cater for short-term leases. Nothing in between was being run properly. So we set about filling a gap in the market, one apartment at a time, building a relationship with the owner of each one. Treating extended stays seriously instead of as the leftover edge of someone else's business.
That's still how we work, three decades on. Different scale. Same approach. Apartments chosen for living in. A team that handles the handover. A standard that holds across markets.

That means a full kitchen rather than a kitchenette, a separate living area, and a desk and connection that hold up to a full day of calls. Every apartment arrives furnished, with linen, towels and kitchenware in place, utilities and wifi connected, and nothing left for a guest to organise in their own name. The specification is set by us and checked between every stay, so someone moving from Melbourne to Manila finds the same standard waiting rather than a different interpretation of it.

The team running Convido have spent most of their working lives in extended stays, hospitality and corporate accommodation. That experience shows up in the unglamorous places: intuitively knowing which buildings fit the Convido model, which owners answer the phone, and how long a placement in a new city actually takes to arrange. Guests deal with the same local people each time rather than an inbox, and corporate clients have named contacts who know the programme without needing to be re-briefed.
