Resources for new arrivals

If you’re staying with Convido Corporate Housing and are new to the city, you’ll probably want to settle in as quickly as possible and then start exploring your new town – but where to begin?

Read on for our top tips for making a new city home and some of our favourite resources for new arrivals in a few of our most popular Convido cities.

Attend a variety of networking events

Local chambers of commerce and industry will often hold events which provide an opportunity to learn about topical business trends while meeting new people from a variety of business backgrounds. If you’re interested in something more industry-specific, associations are another option, or for a more informal setting, you could consider joining your local expat community.

Maintain your hobbies and try new things

Maintaining your hobbies can help make a new city feel more like home too. If you play golf back home, why not consider joining your nearest club, or visiting casually? Many of our apartment buildings feature sports clubs as well – ask one of our friendly team members for more information when booking and they’ll happily guide you through the building facilities.

Check out local apps

Another great way to acclimatise in a new city is to check out the local apps. Being able to quickly and easily research or order things like transportation, traffic conditions, food and entertainment can go a long way towards making you feel more at home in your new city.

Bookmark local lifestyle websites for great restaurants and entertainment ideas

We regularly post entertainment ideas on our Facebook pages as well. You can follow our Australian Facebook page here or follow our Philippines Facebook page here.

We also highly recommend bookmarking this incredible array of lifestyle websites if frequenting trendy new restaurants and bars or trying the latest local craze is your thing:
